Kaci King, the dynamic CEO of West Ohio Tool Co., has been honored as the CEO of the Year for 2023 by the Female Voice Awards created by WomELLE. A blend of innovation, leadership, and community involvement marks her journey in the manufacturing and cutting tool industry.
A native of Logan County, Ohio, Kaci graduated from Indian Lake High School and the University of Findlay with a degree in accounting. As a second-generation family member and West Ohio Tool Co. co-owner, Kaci’s passion for manufacturing has been pivotal to overseeing the organization. Her leadership has been instrumental in driving the company’s mission, operations, and vision.
Starting as the business’s first delivery driver, Kaci has held various roles, including CFO, handling the company’s taxes and finances, and eventually ascending to CEO in 2021. Kaci recently obtained the State of Ohio WBE certification and is pursuing Federal WBE and small business certifications.
Under Kaci’s leadership alongside her husband, Rea, the company has seen remarkable growth, including a significant increase in sales, customer base, and innovative solutions. Kaci’s strategies have opened new avenues like governmental contract work for the Department of Defense. She has also spearheaded community give-back initiatives, including volunteer programs and partnerships with Feeding America.
Her efforts were recognized with a Small Business Award from the Columbus Blue Jackets and a feature in Ohio Business Magazine’s Top 500. Her dedication to philanthropy is evident in her support of Make-A-Wish through Wardrobe Wranglin‘ at the 4-H county fair and teaching restorative yoga for a cause.
Kaci’s personal experiences with her children’s medical challenges led her to advocate and write “Light Will Emerge,“ a book detailing their journey, with a foreword by Dr. Ben Carson. Her leadership at West Ohio Tool Co. and dedication to giving back to the community exemplify her multifaceted approach to success.
