Collecting Information about Women’s Health

The health of women and girls is of particular concern because they still face several disadvantages in many societies. Women and girls are disadvantaged by discrimination rooted in sociocultural factors. For instance, women and girls face increased vulnerability to HIV/AIDS. Various sociocultural factors prevent women and girls from enjoying the benefits of quality health services and attaining optimal levels of health.

These factors include social norms that decrease education and paid employment opportunities; unequal power relationships between men and women; the potential or actual experience of physical, sexual, and emotional violence; and an exclusive focus on women’s reproductive roles. Aside from these, poverty is an essential barrier to positive health outcomes for women. Poverty affects men too, but it tends to yield a higher burden on women’s and girls’ health.

Many women also do not know how to solve their health problems or whom to approach for remedy. We at WomELLE are committed to using relevant and accurate content to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent disease. Moreover, we also offer health and wellness information for those seeking answers to their health questions. Below is a listing of websites devoted to women’s health issues, including pregnancy, menopause, breast cancer, proper nutrition, exercise, fitness, etc.

Healthline

Healthline sets high standards of quality, research, and transparency for its shares, ensuring that the reader has access to nothing but the best. This website offers information on wide-ranging medical issues, including those that affect women. The site offers over 20,000 articles reviewed by a medical subject matter expert such as a doctor, nurse, or therapist. Its recommendations are current and based on research, thanks to the organization’s diligent health and medical monitoring standards. Featured brands are reviewed for medical credibility, business practices, and social impact.

Everyday Health

Everyday Health or Lifescript claims to be the No. 1 website dedicated to women’s health. Its mission is to create a place where women find and share healthy living information — their way. The site inspires women to be proactive about their health (and lives) and helps them build a support network of experts and other users.

Breast Cancer Rehabilitation and Recovery

Breast Cancer Rehabilitation and Recovery is a holistic approach using traditional rehabilitation techniques and Pilates-based methods. Promoted by a Certified Cancer Exercise Trainer, Naomi Aaronson, Breast Cancer Rehabilitation and Recovery looks at how one is functioning in both their daily tasks and leisure activities to help you “get back to life.” Aaronson also offers individual treatment after a thorough assessment. Individual treatment includes evaluating one’s lifestyle, range of motion, pain, strength, coordination, and ability to perform daily life activities.

EmpoweredParents.com

Empowered Parents is an advocacy site designed to educate and mentor patients, parents, and professionals to use themselves knowledgeably and confidently as advocates for the recovery of these most lethal mental health disorders and eating disorders. It claims that the tools and strategies one will find here work. They are the product of 45 years of Abigail Natenshon’s professional experience treating eating-disordered individuals and their families. She says eating disorders are fully curable in 80 percent of cases when recognized and treated effectively and timely. With recovery, individuals get their lives back; parents and families get their loved ones back; treating professionals save lives and improve life quality.

Women Sports Jobs

WomenSportsJobs.com is a website with a difference. It is the leading online career center for women in the sports industry and women interested in sports-related fields.
