Lara Augusta is a woman who has lived and worked on four continents, dealt with a multitude of cultures and understood the importance of human development for performance. She founded Embracing Potentiality, a company focusing on personal and professional growth through self-awareness, reflection, and confronting inner issues.

Born and raised in Brazil, Lara graduated with a degree in International Relations. Unlike in the United States, where students choose their own curriculum, Brazilian students study a comprehensive curriculum with mandatory classes in topics such as Technology, International Law, Politics, Media, Marketing, Sociology, Anthropology, Philosophy, Environment, and Conflict Management. Lara’s education gave her a broad understanding of global issues, cultural differences, and communication skills that she later applied to her work in corporate training.

Lara’s journey in building and facilitating learning experiences started when she was 16 years old. She was certified as a Teacher of English as a Second Language and was recruited to teach children and adults in the top 3 English schools in her hometown in Brazil. After graduating in International Relations, Lara worked in International Trade and Diplomacy, which led her to live in Beijing, China, for three years. While living in China, Lara transitioned back to education and training. She joined the official hospitality company for the Olympic Games in their training and global staff management pursuits for the Beijing Games.

Lara‘s diverse experiences and education gave her a fresh perspective on corporate training. She drew on her background in International Relations, applied her knowledge of global issues, cultural differences, and communication skills to her work in corporate training, and remained dedicated to studies of human development for performance. After obtaining an online Master of Science in Education in Learning Design and Technology (MSEd in L.D.T.) from Purdue University, Lara is now pursuing a Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health MSc at King’s College in London.

Lara’s passion for personal and professional growth led her to start Embracing Potentiality. The company’s mission is to partner with individuals on their awareness and growth journeys.
