Misty Lucas: Tap into Your True Self

Misty Lucas: Tap into Your True Self

From teaching yoga and training yoga teachers for a couple of years in intimate settings to becoming a life coach, Misty Lucas’ journey has been one of self-discovery. She had found her calling in coaching and guiding people to lead better lives became her life goal. After years of struggling with her own autoimmune disease, Misty decided to take the reins of her life into her hands and heal herself from the inside out. Now, she uses the same powerful techniques to help others find inner peace through her company, Misty Lucas Wellness .

Misty, a Women’s Life Coach and Restorative Yoga Educator, had to find a path after a debilitating life condition (rheumatoid arthritis) left her physically, emotionally and spiritually depleted. She started working as a legal assistant in personal injury in 1999, moving on to work in a boutique personal injury law firm as a paralegal and eventually assisting in the management of the firm. But the diagnosis in 2011 shook her life, prompting her to pivot from law to dedicate her life to supporting women navigating complex health crises from chronic stress and autoimmune illnesses by blending her coaching skills and restorative yoga techniques.

Wellness 101

Misty Lucas Wellness was born from Misty’s desire to support women who feel overwhelmed, stuck, and want more from life than what they are living. She understood the effect guilt, fear, and ego can have on a person’s mind. As a coach, her mission is to create a safe space for you to access your world of possibilities beyond stress and unhappiness. Misty created online programs for women to focus on self-care and personal growth. Her programs provide support, guidance, and tools for breaking free from limiting beliefs. A safe and non-judgmental environment for her clients to explore their inner selves, share their thoughts, and ask questions.

The company offers 1:1 coaching in a 6-month container, designed specifically for the client, with the client, and by the client. The container is built on the pillars of bringing focus to the client’s goals, transformational work, energy management, and skills development . The clients also receive resources that support relaxation, self-exploration, and tuning into the body to gain inner awareness and strengthen intuition. From her extensive knowledge as a yogini and trainer, she has created her signature coaching program to support her clients and work with them to release old patterns holding them back from creating the life they want to live. Misty has stepped into her true self and moved away from a place of comparison, which made her realize that what she has to offer is exactly what the world needs.

Easing into the Comfort Zone

Misty’s goal is to support women to step into their power just as she was supported to step into hers. She believes that women need to realize that they are not alone in their struggle, and the need to understand the body and the wisdom it carries is important. “When we understand how our body reacts to a state of stress, we can utilize techniques to bring it back into the parasympathetic nervous system, which is the space in which we can rest and digest what is going on around us. The more we connect and tune into our bodies, the more freedom we will experience,” says Misty.

Misty starts by guiding women to create their vision of what they want in life in comparison to where they are in the moment. She then begins by analyzing the roadblocks (such as people-pleasing, perfectionism, and self-doubt) which will help bring about the transformation. Her goal is to empower the clients so that when the blocks resurface, they have the courage, confidence, and inner power to continue navigating them.

Navigating the Challenges

Misty’s biggest hindrance was finding the confidence to step into her true self and follow her soul’s purpose. She worked her way through feelings of self-doubt and imposter syndrome to feel empowered and share her passion and purpose with the world. For her as a businesswoman, maintaining the mindset and continuing to do what she does was challenging. So, confidence is key. She also advises women to seek help when needed and not deal with everything on their own. As women, vulnerability is our superpower, not weakness, and creating a judgment-free space will make supporting others to grow in life easier.
