Wellness is what one chooses to pursue and requires constant effort to achieve. While associated with a healthy lifestyle, wellness goes beyond the boundaries of general health and encompasses a positive outlook on mind, body, and soul. Inner wellness, a relatively new concept, simply means following your inner compass. Balancing professional life with personal health and happiness starts with embracing your uniqueness and respecting your body and mind to grow and thrive. Nicole Batiste is a Mindfulness Educator, Transcendence Catalyst, and Empowerment Coach, helping women recognize and release past failures, pains, and outdated subconscious programming, so they are equipped to create the life they want.
A retired army veteran, Nicole started her coaching career in 2007 after navigating through many self-worth and self-esteem issues, which taught her to own who she was and be unapologetic about it. Reading a book on personal development by Steven Covey titled The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People created a shift in her mindset. This encouraged her to go from just existing to living. It also opened her eyes to others suffering in silence as she battled depression as a child. Intending to do more to help others, she obtained her Holistic Health Coach Certification through The Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2012. At that time, her focus was weight management, but she noticed a missing link which was the person’s mindset, and that impacted all other goals.
The shift in focus and mindset is the steppingstone that led her towards restoring spirit as a baseline to achieving any goal and her mission to help clients overcome their fears, limitations, and blocks so that it becomes easier to manifest what they envision for their lives. To give an impetus to her existing knowledge, she further trained in other areas, including positive psychology, nutrition psychology, functional medicine health coaching, heart rate variability for stress management, and trauma management to help her clients reach their goals in an effective manner. Nicole is of the belief that inner growth is critical as it makes a person unstoppable.
Be Well with Nikki
Nicole believes that cultivating a healthy relationship with your mind is key to improving your health. With this idea, she founded “Be Well with Nikki” in 2010 to offer holistic health coaching services. Her mission is to bring awareness to her audience’s various forms and modalities of wellness and healing. She bases her coaching practice on reformation of mindset, emotional freedom, mental and physical detox as the foundation of health. She includes energy clearing, mindful eating habits, harmonizing your inner life, discovering your inner strength, and guiltless self-care practices to bring out the best in her clients. According to Nicole, “mindset is the foundation to optimal health and the relationship one has with the mind is the key to overall well-being.”
Since the year 2012, Nicole has also trained in other areas, including positive psychology, nutrition psychology, functional medicine health coaching, heart rate variability for stress management, and trauma management, to add more value to her clients’ experience and shorten their path to goal realization. Nicole brings a nutritional and spiritual approach to her program to create a holistic, transformative experience. When she speaks, Nicole always intends for two things to happen. First, the audience’s mind and curiosity muscles are strengthened, revealing new solutions and perspectives. Second, they are equipped with at least one action step to help propel them towards becoming the best version of themselves.
Nicole had to navigate her way through a lot of self-esteem issues to reach where she is today. One of her core beliefs is that self-reliance is crucial. Her objective is to help her clients build their inner strength to autonomously move through emotionally and mentally challenging situations. Those who work with Nicole experience palpable shifts in their mental and nutritional health, and overall quality of life as she guides them through empowered thinking. She has partnered with The Wellness Universe, a community of vetted wellness practitioners. Nicole is associated with them as their official Soul Print Nutrition Expert Leader and teaches how to listen to your body in addition of educating people on how to. integrate practical nutritional facts, keying into your intuition, and how to raise your vibration to nurture your health.
Another aspect that Nicole focuses on is work-life balance, as she feels that a “perfect plan” does not exist. With lines between work and home being blurred with COVID-19-induced working from home, this balance has become indistinct. Research has proven that Americans have a more challenging time separating work life from personal time compared with other countries. Further, workplace stressors caused by bad bosses, miscommunications, rapidly changing priorities, rigid schedules, and long work hours add to the imbalance and increased levels of mental stress. Nicole works towards supporting a healthy personal life outside of work to promote health, well-being, and resilience. She has many organizations availing her services who have highly benefitted from the program as it has created more productive and resilient employees.
Nicole’s approach to wellness is two-fold. First, she wants the clients’ minds and curiosity muscles to be strengthened so that new solutions and perspectives are revealed. Second, she wants them to leave with at least one action step that will help propel them towards becoming the best version of themselves. Nicole wants her clients to first listen to their souls and then work on what is lacking on the outside. She believes that we all know what we are more than anyone else. Hence, she encourages to trive for a realistic balance rather than a perfect one to achieve a greater level of symbiosis with oneself.
Nicole tries her best to make her clients overcome their fears, limitations, and inhibitions to encourage them to manifest their vision for life with a renewed sense of energy. She currently has a YouTube channel where she interviews holistic practitioners who share their valuable insights. As advice to the women entrepreneurs, Nicole has a few things to say: “Don’t put the cart before the horse. Research what you want to do properly, and then find a mentor who will guide you. Figure out if you really want to do this or just like the idea. Make sure you have your ducks in a row when you go all in. You might not make a lot of money initially, but it will save you a lot of headaches later. It should come from your heart so that the energy feels endless. Do something that moves you.”
