Speaking Your Bodys Language For Business

Technology and business are evolving at light speed. You need a body that can keep up and clearly communicate it’s needs, or YOU will be left behind. Unlike your mind which can be future focused, the body is only ever in the now, so it ALWAYS needs to be prepared for changes in real time.

In the throes of a stressful day, stressful week or stressful LIFE, you need to be aware of the impact your stress is having on your body. The truth of your internal environment will outwardly express itself via body cues and sensations. Your body will be alert to stress long before your conscious mind becomes aware of it.

What does your stress FEEL like? Tingling? Itching? Chest tightness? Shortness of breath? Headaches? The cues are subtle at first and grow louder and less forgiving the longer you ignore them.

No supplement in the world can override what you’re ignoring.

Do you know what your body is trying to tell you? Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a go-to method to help you quickly assess and address stress that could be blocking you from being fully present, living and evolving in your personal life and business?  Of course, you do. You can start by remembering “The 3 P’s”.

  • Pause
  • Physical Scan
  • Proceed

1. Pause

Literally PAUSE from what you are doing and open your awareness to all aspects of yourself and everything around you. This is the most critical skill you can develop when it comes to learning the unique language your body speaks. It is the ONLY way to allow yourself to learn what your body is trying to tell you. Although it is easier said than done, with practice, it changes EVERYTHING. Just a PAUSE. This ONE skill can and will change your life. It creates the space to get present, gain clarity and receive information from your body.

2. Physical Scan

After the pause, scan your entire body from head to toe. What do you feel?  Where do you feel the stress? Is it in your chest? Your stomach? Your neck? Your shoulders? Your head? Your back? How intense or mild is it? Take note of every location you can and write be as specific as you can.  With more practice you will find different types of stressors have specific physical manifestations and sensations. Write down in as much detail as you can what the sensations are in your body. Instead of something simple like “headache”, explain what it actually FEELS like. Is it pounding? Is it more of an ache? Like lightning bolts? Pressure? Are there any colors or visions associated to the sensation?

Scanning your body can help you to really attune yourself with what is actually going on with you and how to manage things.

After you have completed your physical scan ask yourself these four questions:

  • Am I safe?
  • Have I taken any deep breaths?
  • Have I had enough water?
  • Do I need to eat?

You MUST:

Be Safe.

Breathe.

Drink.

Eat.

Your ability to regulate when stressed is greatly impacted by your perception of safety, how you eat, hydrate and breathe.

Did you know that your brain uses 20-25 percent of the total oxygen in your body and is directly linked to your emotional state? Carbon dioxide increases with stress and causes your brain to cloud quickly as its levels rise. Breathing gets rid of carbon dioxide. BREATHE!

Hydration is important to help transport all necessary nutrients and to flush out waste products, dead cells and toxins. Inadequate hydration can prove to be a huge problem and increased physical stress on vital organs.

You need the right amount of carbohydrates and fats to provide the energy cycles, vitamins, and nutrients necessary to metate clearly and appropriately. You need quality amino acids derived from dietary protein that are ready for your body to utilize in heightened states of stress without having to break down its own protein for resources.

3. Proceed

Once you are safe, hydrated, oxygenated and fed, you are more equipped to tune in to the truths of the body and expand your experience of your business and your relationships. In a deep, authentic connection to your body, yourself care practice becomes more aligned and your ability to tune into your gut instinct intensifies.

Hacking into the science of your body is still you against your body, not you WITH your body. When you start to listen to and work with your body, you experience an instinctual evolution. Imagine what would be possible if you and your body weren’t working against each other so much of the time. You could enter the flow state of your human organism where EVERYTHING gets easier.

Pause. Physical Scan. Proceed. Utilizing “The 3 P’s” is an awesome way start translating the unique language your body speaks before getting even deeper into how to optimize and integrate your body for success in everything in your business and personal life.
