Looking Back to Look Ahead

We are in the last month of 2022, and the year has been phenomenal. A few more days before we embark on a fresh start, a new beginning, and a time to reflect on the past year and look ahead at what the new calendar holds. People often ask you not to dwell on the past, but it is as important to focus on what you have achieved in the past year, be it personal or professional, to know where you stand. The magnitude of the successes does not matter, but what matters is how it impacted people around you or in your business. So, let us pause and take a moment to see where we were at the start of the last year, the path we traversed in the next 12 months, and the lessons we are taking into the new year. Reflection can be vulnerable and bring back some difficult memories, but it is so worth it.

With the understanding of what went well in the past year and what needs to be done in the coming one, we are here with another issue of WomLEAD Magazine. In this, we reflect on the nuances of businesses and related topics that gathered heat this year, along with showcasing women entrepreneurs who left us in awe of the amazing work that they are doing, fighting all odds.

In this issue, you will learn about:

Our Cover Girl, award-winning children’s author Jennifer Swanson, is on a mission to expand literacy and STEM/STEAM education among children.

Prissly Mena, is helping businesses create brand value and drive sales through digital marketing.

Certified Labor Doula Shanika King, helping women have a safe and empowering birthing experience.

Therapist Taylor Presha is helping individuals overcome mental health issues through self-awareness.

Real estate agent Dr. Chekesha Catlin, works towards closing the disparities in home ownership and turning realty dreams into reality

Looking back, we have a piece on leading women in technology in 2022, along with the best innovative companies of the past year.

And much more.
